Setting up the Pinpoint Integration

This article describes how to set up your Pinpoint integration and sync features.

Updated over a year ago

In order to set up your Pinpoint integration on SourceWhale simply follow these steps.

Step 1

Navigate to your initials/image in the bottom left-hand corner > click on Integrations > select Pinpoint.

Step 2

Head to Settings > Integrations in your Pinpoint account.

Step 3

Click 'Activate'.

Once your integration is active you will see a green connected box appear by the Pinpoint icon.

Sync Features

On the integrations page, an admin will be able to set default settings for yourself and your team.

General Settings

  1. Do not merge with existing contacts in Pinpoint: Turning this toggle on will create duplicates in Pinpoint.

  2. Create notes upon: Choose for which outreach types a note is pushed in Pinpoint.

Sync Settings

  1. Only add notes to synced records: Toggling this on will mean that if you have "sync upon interested" or "sync upon replied" for the next option, we will only add notes to existing records in Pinpoint once a Candidate has been marked as "interested" or "replied".

  2. When adding to a campaign: Choose to sync when adding Candidates or when they respond or when they respond positively and are interested. Click the lock icon to lock the sync settings for all non-admin users within the platform.

  3. Displayed fields: Choose which Pinpoint fields users can optionally tag to Candidate to push into Pinpoint.

  4. Mandatory fields: Choose which Pinpoint fields must be filled to push a Candidate into Pinpoint.

  5. Protected fields: Selected fields will not be overwritten in Pinpoint when syncing data.

  6. Filterable fields: Selected fields will be displayed within the SourceWhale search page as a filter, allowing your team to search your CRM using these fields directly from within SourceWhale.

Field Mapping

Here you can customise and map all Pinpoint fields to the corresponding SourceWhale variable.

Note: Please do not adjust unless you are finding that the variables are not mapping as expected in Pinpoint.

  1. String Variables: These SourceWhale variables can only be mapped to one field in Pinpoint.

  2. List Variables: These SourceWhale variables can be mapped to multiple fields in Pinpoint.

  3. Social URLs: Link specific social URLs such as LinkedIn, Twitter etc to the correct field in Pinpoint.

You are now ready to start using your Pinpoint integrations. See our article on using Pinpoint with SourceWhale here.
