Setting up & using the Exelare Integration

This article describes how to set up, use your Exelare integration and sync features.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Exelare Integration Setup

In order to set up your Exelare integration on SourceWhale simply follow these steps:

Step 1

Navigate to your initials/image in the bottom left-hand corner > Select Integrations from the dropdown menu.

Search for Exelare in the search bar.

Step 2

Ask your Exelare account manager for your Username, Password, Company ID and API Source ID.

You may need to upgrade your Exelare account to use this integration.

Step 3

Once you have entered the relevant details then click 'Activate'.

Once the integration is active, you will see a green connected box by the Exelare icon.

Sync Features

On the integrations page, you will be able to set default settings for yourself and your team.

General Settings

  1. Sync manual contact updates to Exelare - Automatically update Exelare with any manual changes made by your team to contact fields in SourceWhale, such as name, company, role, location and more.

  2. Create notes upon - Choose for which outreach types a note is pushed in Exelare.

Sync Settings

  1. Set different settings for Candidates/Contacts.

  2. Only add notes to synced records - Toggling this on will mean that if you have "sync upon interested" or "sync upon replied" for the next option, we will only add notes to existing records in Exelare once a Candidate/Contact has been marked as "interested" or "replied".

  3. When adding to a campaign - Choose to sync when adding Candidates/Contacts or when they respond or when they respond positively and are interested. Click the lock icon to lock the sync settings for all non-admin users within the platform.

  4. Protected fields - Selected fields will not be overwritten in Exelare when syncing data.

  5. Filterable fields - Selected fields will be displayed within the SourceWhale search page as a filter, allowing your team to search your CRM using these fields directly from within SourceWhale.

Field Mapping

Here you can customise and map all Exelare fields to the corresponding SourceWhale variable.

Please do not adjust unless you are finding that the variables are not mapping as expected in Exelare.

  1. Set different settings for Candidates/Contacts

  2. String Variables - These SourceWhale variables can only be mapped to one field in Exelare.

  3. List Variables - These SourceWhale variables can be mapped to multiple fields in Exelare.

  4. Social URLs - Link specific social URLs such as LinkedIn, Twitter etc to the correct field in Exelare.

Using Exelare with SourceWhale

Within SourceWhale you can use the Exelare integration features in the campaign settings or Chrome extension.

Campaign Settings

When creating a campaign, you will be prompted with this pop-up:

Below the campaign name and type, you can choose whether to sync as a Candidate or Contact. You can also choose to adjust the default sync settings.

Chrome Extension

When using the chrome extension you will be able to access some of these features as well. This option is available in order to give the ability to change the settings you have previously set, for specific individuals.

I.e. In the campaign settings page, you have selected that you want everyone to be pushed through as a Candidate, but you come across someone you'd rather push through as a Contact, you can then change this by clicking on the 'sync as' box and selecting the option that suits that Contact better.
