Overview
Whenever Notetaker finishes summarising one of your meetings, SourceWhale now emails the recap straight to you. The email captures the meeting details, an overview of what was discussed, and a snapshot of action items grouped by who's responsible.
This is available to all SourceWhale users with an active Notetaker licence. New Notetaker users have this enabled by default. Existing Notetaker users have it turned off by default and can switch it on in Profile > Notifications.
How it works
1. Notetaker joins and records your meeting as usual.
2. Once the call ends and the meeting summary is generated, SourceWhale automatically sends a recap email to every SourceWhale user with an active Notetaker licence who has the setting enabled.
3. Open the email to see the meeting title, date and time, an overview, and the action items.
4. Click View in SourceWhale or View all action items to jump back into the full meeting record.
5. Each email includes a link to update your notification preferences directly if you no longer want to receive them.
Managing your preferences
1. Go to Profile > Notifications.
2. Toggle Send me a summary of Notetaker meetings on or off.
3. The setting is only visible if you have an active Notetaker licence.
4. New users have it on by default. Existing users have it off by default and need to switch it on manually to start receiving recap emails.
FAQs
Do I need to do anything to start receiving these emails?
It depends on whether you are a new or existing Notetaker user. New users have the setting on by default and will receive emails after their first Notetaker meeting. Existing users have it off by default: go to Profile > Notifications and enable Send me a summary of Notetaker meetings to start receiving them.
Who receives the email for a given meeting?
Every attendee on the meeting who is a SourceWhale user, has an active Notetaker licence, and has the setting turned on. External guests and SourceWhale users without a Notetaker licence won't receive it.
When does the email arrive?
As soon as the meeting summary has finished generating after the call ends.
Why is the action items list shorter than what I see in SourceWhale?
The email is trimmed to keep it readable: you'll see up to 5 of your own action items and 1 per other attendee. Click View all action items in the email to see the full list in SourceWhale.
