How to Create a Custom Domain

This article will describe how to generate CNAME records within the SourceWhale platform.

In order to set up click tracking for your team on SourceWhale, we will need to generate and add two CNAME records to the DNS settings of your web domain to help with email attachments and deliverability. To learn more about the benefits, check out this article.

To add a Custom Domain please watch the walkthrough video or follow the written steps below:

Step 1.

Navigate to the Admin page from the SourceWhale Dashboard

  • Click the Settings tab

  • Scroll to the Custom Domain section

Step 2.

Enter your domain in the Custom Domain bar and press Enter

  • The CNAME names and values will be displayed as shown in the image below

Step 3.

Add these CNAME records and values to the DNS settings of your domain.
If you do not have access to these settings, please contact your website administrator.

Step 4.

Once your CNAME records are live, you will see a green check mark icon beside Custom Domain in the Admin panel.

Note: Depending on your web domain provider, CNAME records can take up to 72 hours to go live.
