Setting up the Thrive Integration

This article describes how to set up your Thrive integrations and Integration settings.

Updated over a week ago

In order to set up your Thrive integration on SourceWhale simply follow these steps.

Step 1

Navigate to your initials/image in the bottom left-hand corner > Select Integrations from the dropdown menu.

Search for Thrive in the search bar.

Step 2

To enable the Thrive integration, navigate to the Integrations -> Access Tokens page on your Thrive dashboard. At the bottom you will see the option to Generate API Token.

Step 3

Click 'Activate'.

Once the integration is active you will see a green connected box by the Thrive icon.

Integration Settings

On the integrations page, you will be able to set default settings for yourself and your team.

Contact Settings

Sync manual contact updates to Thrive - Automatically update Thrive with any manual changes made by your team to contact fields in SourceWhale, such as name, company, role, location and more.

Adding to Thrive

Add Contact to Thrive - Choose when Contacts get added to Thrive, either when added to the campaign, when they respond or when they respond positively and are interested. Alternatively, you can choose to not add this contact type.

Only add notes to synced records - Toggling this on will mean that if you have "only when they reply" or "only when they are interested" for the Add Contact to option, we will only add notes to existing records in Thrive once a Candidate has been marked as "interested" or "replied".

Contacts Fields

Displayed fields - Choose which Thrive fields users can optionally tag to a Contact to push into Thrive.

Mandatory fields - Choose which Thrive fields must be filled to push Contact into Thrive.

Update field in Thrive - You can choose "Always update" or "Only update if Blank":

Always update will update the field regardless if there is existing information on a contact in this field. Any existing information will be overwritten by the new information.

Only update if Blank will only update when the field is empty and won't overwrite any existing data.

Advanced Settings

Filterable Fields - Selected fields will be displayed within the SourceWhale search page as a filter, allowing your team to search your CRM using these fields directly from within SourceWhale.

Activity Notes

Here you can choose which activities will create notes in Thrive.

Note creation

Create new notes from - Choose for which outreach types a note is pushed in Thrive.

Note mapping

Here you can map SourceWhale activities to your custom Thrive note types.

Set different settings for Candidates by selecting the relevant tab.

Select the dropdown for each stage to map it to the correct Thrive Note Type

You don't need to map notes as the note will still be created in the CRM (just without a specific note action type/category) but mapping helps track ROI.

Contact Stages

Here you can map SourceWhale outreach stages to your custom Thrive stages.

Select the drop-down for each stage to map it to the correct Thrive Stage.

Contact Fields

Here you can customise and map all Thrive fields to the corresponding SourceWhale variable.

Please do not adjust unless you are finding that the variables are not mapping as expected in Thrive.

General Settings

Displayed Company Information

Displayed company info - Select the option to give further information regarding a company in the SourceWhale Chrome extension.

Displayed company warning - Select the option you would like displayed to help identify the correct company for a Candidate when there may be possible company duplicates or similarly named companies in your CRM.

Advanced Settings

Update existing contacts' full work/education history, if known - Turning this toggle on will update contacts in Thrive with all available work and education history if synced again.

Default candidacy stage when creating contacts - Choose what you would like the default candidacy stage to be when contacts are created

Search status whitelist - Only searches with these statuses will be available for selection

Block emails to contacts/companies marked as... - SourceWhale will not send emails to contacts/companies based on the tags selected from the dropdown.
