Overview
SourceWhale provides a team-level API key that lets you connect your account to external tools like TalentWall. The key is generated by an admin user from the SourceWhale Admin panel and then entered into TalentWall's integration settings.
This is a one-time setup step. Once connected, TalentWall uses the key to sync data from SourceWhale automatically.
How to Get Your API Key
Step 1 - Open the Admin panel
From the SourceWhale dashboard, click your profile icon in the bottom left-hand corner and select Admin.
Step 2 - Generate and copy the API key
Click the Settings tab. Scroll down to the API Key section and click Generate API Key. Your key will appear in the field, click to copy it.
Paste the key into the SourceWhale integration settings in TalentWall to complete the connection.
FAQs
Who can generate the API key?
Only admin users can access the Admin panel and generate an API key. If you do not see the Admin option in your profile menu, ask your team admin to do this for you.
Can I regenerate the API key?
Yes, click Generate API Key again to create a new key. Note that this will invalidate the previous key, so you will need to update it in TalentWall.
Where do I enter the key in TalentWall?
Log in to TalentWall and navigate to your integration settings. Look for the SourceWhale integration and paste the key into the designated field.
