The following steps must be completed by a Bullhorn user with Admin permissions.
Follow the steps below to add SourceWhale to the Bullhorn Source list. Repeat the setup for each record type that your SourceWhale integration uses: Candidate, ClientContact (shown as Contact in some Bullhorn views), and, if applicable, Lead.
Step 1
Login to your Bullhorn CRM, click on the Menu in the top left hand corner -> Admin -> Field Mappings
Step 2
Scroll down until you find ClientContact (shown as Contact in some Bullhorn views). Expand it, then search for source in the Label field.
Click on the little arrow next to source just under the "Field" section. In the Value list, input SourceWhale
Step 3
Repeat the process for the Candidate record type: scroll through the list and find Candidate.
Click on the little arrow next to Candidate, search for "source" in the Label field. Then click on the little arrow next to source under the field section and then add SourceWhale to the Value list.
The SourceWhale value is used when the relevant record type is mapped to the Bullhorn Source field in SourceWhale. It is not applied to every Bullhorn record automatically unless that record type is configured in the integration.
Lead (if used)
If your integration uses Bullhorn Lead records, repeat the same process: expand Lead, search for source in the Label field, and add SourceWhale to the value list.
Source Mappings in SourceWhale
Check that Source is mapped correctly in SourceWhale within the Contact Fields for every record type you use: Candidate, ClientContact (shown as Contact), and Lead where applicable. Follow these steps:
1. Navigate to your Integration Settings in SourceWhale.
2. Click on Bullhorn
3. Click on the Contact Fields tab
4. Select the relevant tab (Candidate, Contact, or Lead)
5. Scroll down to Source and check that it is mapped to the correct Bullhorn field
6. Repeat this for each record type you use.
Ensure this is mapped to the Source field where you added the SourceWhale value.
After saving, add or sync a test contact for each configured record type and confirm that its Bullhorn Source value is SourceWhale. If it is missing, check both the Bullhorn value list and the corresponding Source mapping in SourceWhale.
